Varia Lebiadzenka is a Toronto photographer with a particular interest in people &mdash
from fashion to contemporary wedding photojournalism. She has been working as a professional
photographer for over five years now, and absolutely loves it.
Varia specializes in fashion photography,
wedding photography,
destination wedding photos,
"trash the dress"
and engagement photography.
She graduated with Honours Diploma in Creative Photography from Humber College and currently
works on her own, concentrating on fashion photosessions, model portfolios,
wedding photojournalism and destination weddings. She works both on location and in studio,
shooting mostly digital and sometimes (quite seldom lately) on film.
Her interest in photography sparked while developing black and white pictures in a small
home based darkroom with her grandfather at the age of five. At that time Varia just enjoyed
looking how projected image was transformed into actual photograph.
Growing in the artistic family, Varia attended School of Visual Arts in Minsk.
While at school Varia held a personal painting exhibition in 1996.
In 2000 she concentrated her artistic drive on photography.
Varia has earned recognition and
respect in the photography field, and her photographs, exhibited both in
Canada and Russia, have received numerous honors and awards in recent years:
Varia also exhibited her work twice in Toronto (at Gallery 44). The PhotoEd magazine published a full-page photograph from the exhibition "Dreams and Nightmares" that was showcased at the Gallery 44 in the spring of 2002.
